The 7 DON'Ts after a meal

Just to check how many of these DON'Ts you practice in your daily living.

* Don't smoke - Experiment from experts proves that smoking a cigarette after meal is comparable to smoking 10 cigarettes (chances of cancer is higher).
[ The feel of having a cigee after meal is just heavenly for many smokers. ]

* Don't eat fruits immediately - Immediately eating fruits after meals will cause stomach to be bloated with air. Therefore take fruit 1-2 hr after meal or 1hr before meal.
[ I do this always after meal, cause just feel like want to eat fruit to wash my mouth and throat. ]

* Don't drink tea - Because tea leaves contain a high content of acid. This substance will cause the Protein content in the food we consume to be hardened thus difficult to digest.
[ Always also, especially after having heavy meal and oily one, many think that it can helps to digest and burns off the fats. ]

* Don't loosen your belt - Loosening the belt after a meal will easily cause the intestine to be twisted & blocked.
[ For those with big belly, loosen their belt they will makes them feel more comfortable. ]

* Don't bathe - Bathing will cause the increase of blood flow to the hands, legs & body thus the amount of blood around the stomach will therefore decrease. This will weaken the digestive system in our stomach.
[ Try to bath before meal or rest a while after meal. ]

* Don't walk about - People always say that after a meal walk a hundred steps and you will live till 99. In actual fact this is not true. Walking will cause the digestive system to be unable to absorb the nutrition from the food we intake.
[ Many think that after a meal, do some walking can help to digest faster. ]

* Don't sleep immediately - The food we intake will not be able to digest properly. Thus will lead to gastric & infection in our intestine.
[ Especially after meal, you will definitely feel sleepy. ]

Conclusion: Thats the facts, but too bad we don't practice the majority.

I don't bathe immediately after a meal coz it's just so uncomfortable, esp after a heavy one. Din know I was practising a good habit. :D

I heard about not drinking tea but it's quite a norm here to have tea with meals... sigh

slavemom: Good that you practising that. Sometimes too hungry, we want to eat first before shower.

sting: The best is to drink plain water than any other type of drink.

hey, where r u going ler? how about your school findings? Do check and peep the school when u visit. My friend is Sri Petaling got huge problem with her child's pre-school. Really unacceptable.

I done mostly of the DON'Ts except smoking. Guess the final conclusion for this is 'DON'T DO ANYTING'? I think I read and article before that drinking cold water is bad too as it will slows down digestive system and harden oily food compound.

those are myths with no evidence to prove them
