The 2015 Christmas

I love celebrate Christmas in other country, well we did that last year at Singapore Universal Studio.

Hopefully in near future, I can experience a white snowy Christmas.

At homeland, the festive feel is still strong, everywhere is so into festive mood, with big malls beautifully decorated and everyone jolly for the season no matter what religion you are. But, one thing to remember, Christmas is to celebrate the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ. He is only the reason for Christmas, others than that it is just the fun is all about. Blehh..

December is always my favorite month, fills with holiday, Chinese Winter solstice (冬至), Christmas and gathering. This year even though we stay at home, but still a lot for us to do. Visiting mall is one of it and sales and events is everywhere. For the year with GST price hike, nothing we bought is cheap nowadays, so look out for sales is the only thing we can do when go for shopping.

We visited 3 big malls since the beginning of December. Pavilion Kuala Lumpur having the "Christmas Sparkles" with the Tallest Swarovski Christmas tree in Asia, at the same time brought my young one attended Pavilion Junior Club Christmas Sparkles Ball. Sunway Pyramid having theme "Christmas in Atlantis" and Mid Valley Megamall theme "The Elves Town Christmas".

Mid Valley Megamall

On the Christmas eve night, we celebrated at church with my family. This year is the simplest one, unlike all the past years we did in larger scale. We have kid's performance, message by Pastor and then a Christmas refreshment. We save the best day on Christmas Day for the unseen society. "It is more blessed to give than to receive" 施比受更有福, a few of our church members actually go out served the poorer and not so lucky one, they are refugees from Myanmar. We contribute some money, buy foods and donate old usable stuff for them.

On the Boxing Day, finally I make it to date my dear friend out for a short gathering at Le Pont Boulangerie.. This is an French style bakery and cafe. They are famous with waffle, we taste these:

That's the summary of my December, it is simple and quiet one.

Shop for music accessories

Every weekend that I sent mine kid to attend music class. Though it is just a short 30 minutes class, I enjoy waiting his class over. Every studio having kid playing different instruments. You will be thinking it must be noisy, but I don't think so, I can even fall asleep sometimes with their gentle music played.

This music school it is not a quiet one too, they have a separate room selling music instruments and accessories like whirlwind cables, speakers, song books and etc. They also accept repair services. Not many music school in my neighborhood like them are doing one-stop services. I always recommend this place to others as they are managing a music school, they will be more professional and understand what a customer need in music instrument compare to others.

Shop for New Christmas Tree

27 days to Christmas.....
in less than a month time...

A jolly season where everywhere will put up nice Christmas decoration. Before that, don't forget, Christmas season is not because of exchanging gift, Santa Claus, celebration and eat turkey, the main character is our Jesus Christ, He is the only reason for Christmas, celebrate of His birth to save us.

For many years being a Christian, I never get a chance to shop and deco a Christmas tree *sweat*. I just got an idea and proposed to management, why not get one put in the hotel lobby. My request got approved with a budget of RM300. To suit with my hotel team color, my idea was to get something like this, the ornaments in cyan or turquoise color mix with silver.
With the limited budget, the first place I thought of is Fun N'Cheer, where this is the only place can get varieties of deco items in cheaper price. Without wait for another weekend, I went to look see after my chores. I make a trip to Fun N' Cheer Balakong, this outlet is bigger with more choice.
Upon reach the entrance, plenty of beautiful Christmas deco in big, small and shiny are welcoming you. About 50 or more different types and sizes of Christmas tree ready for you to choose from, not only that colorful ornaments, lights, ribbon, chain, hats and many more.... All are so pretty, nowadays  many trees are comes with build-in lights, the light is at the leave's tip like fiber optic material.
I finally choose the one that lighted most shine. The ornaments color in turquoise, silver and red chain. Can't get more other ornaments as this is a 5 feet tree, can't have too many, I prefer a simple decoration.

Christmas tree & ornaments price:-
Tree - RM248 with 15% off (as this is the last piece)
2 x turquoise balls - RM5.90 ea (6 balls each box)
1 x silver - RM12.90 ea (mixture of balls and gift box)
2 x red chain - RM2.90 ea
TOTAL = 241.30
* yeah, within budget *

I have so much fun hanging up the ornaments and setup the tree. This kind of tree which build-in with light need to take extra good care as it is quite sensitive on the cable part. Those cable are placed  and hide right in the center of the tree body, it wrapped around with all leaves. Some leaves found not lighted up, it may caused by the cable has broken connection.

*** Ta...da... *** my first Christmas tree
Now the hotel lobby lighted up with a shining Christmas tree, can at least get some festive feel first. That's not enough yet, later will top up some other deco item at the glass door.

17th World of Chinese Book Fair

This book fair held from 20/11-29/11/2015, free entrance at MINES 2, next to Mines shopping mall. I almost went over to MIECC as usual book fair were always there. You can park at Mines shopping mall and walk to Mines 2 using the link bridge near Mc.D. I went there today to check out books, school bags and stationery.
The crowd are quite less and majority book stalls participate are local one, they help to promote local book author's books, oversea Chinese books is very less.

Half of the hall are selling kid's books, stationery and other Chinese culture stuff. All comes with 10-20% discount. There are 5 booth selling school bag, went to check all and finally got this -
Bought the ZigZag (left) school bag, this is a brand from Univer, a normal padded bag, no back support function. He also try on brand Ababee (right) from Taiwan, design is quite similar to unMe, with back support and price much cheaper. Overall, this is a small scale of book fair, parents you can easily find your kid new schooling year's stuff here instead of hopping to different places to get books, bag, uniform, shoe and stationery.

RapidKL Train New Route

My living area is surrounded by LRT, since I can drive, I rarely used public transport and not to say for my boy, he not ever broad on any train or public bus in Malaysia. His virgin train and bus riding experience was all happen at oversea. Since the new route for Ampang line has starts operate recently, so it is a great time now to bring him to experience the homeland one.
This new route need to broad from Sri Petaling station, it will be heading towards Puchong area. The new additional 4 stations name are Awan Besar, Muhibbah, Alam Sutera and Kinrara BK5. It starts trial since 31/10/2015 and passenger can enjoy free ride for 1 month during this trial time. Since the new route open up, every time we passed by the train way above us, mine sure ask to go for a ride. So, why not since it is new and free, we finally make it on last weekend. He was jolly happy and very enjoy the scenery along the ride. His only comment was the train is a bit slow...haha, blame it on those he rides before was in speed one.

We broad our ride at Kinrara BK5 station, this station provides car parking space, where passengers are actually quite convenient to park here and take train ride down town. The free ride only applicable for new route, so we go to and fro the same route. Since it was a weekend, many parents actually bring the kiddo to try out the new train.
First we got to collect token from counter, then at the entrance touch with the token at the panel. I barely can't recall when was my last broad on LRT, back then it was Star LRT, used card system and now its with rapidKL. We have sometime to enjoy the scenery at the platform before train arrive, time waiting for the train reach is about 5-10 min. This train only servicing the first 4 new stations, after Sri Petaling station, the rest is about to ready sometimes later and it will ends at Putra Heights.
Terry enjoy very much the scenery along the way, the route also familiar to him as he recognized those buildings he saw when on the road, and now on train the view is higher and wider. To and fro time frame is about 30 mins.

Upon exit the station, just put back the token at the slot and the exit gate will open.

We also check out the self-ticketing machine. It is much better now with more function, you can reload your train card and also the machine accept notes, coins and even credit card. It was raining bucket the time we ended our ride, not to worry, the parking lot are equipped with roof walking path.
