Proud of you

Lately, Terry love to hum a song every now and then. I was quite shock when I heard the rhythm of it is a popular song by Joey Yung - My Pride (容祖兒 - 我的骄傲) in Cantonese. He was singing the English version and comes with the hand actions. Some of the words he not really can pronounce it clearly, but the lyrics of it is really sweet and meaningful..

Share it with you here along with the YouTube -

Love in your eyes
Sitting silent by my side
Going on Holding hand
Walking through the nights
Hold me up Hold me tight
Lift me up to touch the sky
Teaching me to love with heart
Helping me open my mind

I can fly
I'm proud that I can fly
To give the best of mine
Till the end of the time

Believe me I can fly
I'm proud that I can fly
To give the best of mine
The heaven in the sky

Stars in the sky
Wishing once upon a time
Give me love Make me smile
Till the end of life
Hold me up Hold me tight
Lift me up to touch the sky
Teaching me to love with heart
Helping me open my mind

I can fly
I'm proud that I can fly
To give the best of mine
Till the end of the time

Believe me I can fly
I'm proud that I can fly
To give the best of mine
The heaven in the sky

Can't you believe that you light up my way
No matter how that ease my path
I'll never lose my faith

See me fly
I'm proud to fly up high
Show you the best of mine
Till the end of the time
Believe me I can fly
I'm singing in the sky
Show you the best of mine
The heaven in the sky

Nothing can stop me
Spread my wings so wide

Later, I come to know that this will be one of the song he going to present in his school concert on coming 24th Oct. Looking forward to it...

Lantern. Mooncake

....representing the Mid Autumn festival, the actual day will fall on next Wed 22/9. Have you taste the many new flavors of mooncake coming up in this season? I have tried a few from KLT and find it so nice, the part where it is less sweet.

The boy has brought back 2 lanterns from school, one handmade and another one Japanese lantern pack with candles and stick too. Last Friday night, lit it up at the balcony for him to see. When I try to place the candle in, he told me "Mummy, Happy Birthday"..haha..He got so excited and keep admiring it. He feels that with candle one is more interesting than the electronic one.

Closer look of the handmade lantern. Did in daycare during the school break before Raya.

Electronic Ultraman lantern with bubble blow loud music

Found one thing about the candle, if you think the candle wax will spot on your floor and you got to scrub it off after play. After the 2 candles finish burning from the lantern, I don't find a single spot of the wax drop on the floor! Wondering what is it make off and is it a new thing?

When there is no plan on holiday....

Long holiday has been making us lazy, lazy to wake up, lazy to cook and clean up. No special plan on this long weekend, just do whatever we like following the mood. Since woke up late at 10am, eating buffet just came into my mind. Call up my family since everybody free and there we go to Jogoya for Lunch Buffet. This was my 4th time eating there and finally my wish came true to bring my dear mummy there to have something good. Always wanted to go, but can't find a right time. So this impromptu plan just nice.

My brother drove us there. Public holiday still kinda quiet in town, no crowd at Jogoya. It was RM78++ for adults and half price for Terry. We have a good 2.5 hours yakking non-stop. This round I got a more peaceful mind to eat and slowly taste the food.

The variety range of food is almost the same, they have Natural New Zealand ice-cream, Haagen Daz ice-cream and Cocktail too.

Thumb up for the steam crab

Terry has been warned before out to be good and behave, he ate whatever he choose (yes, he has been choosy nowadays, from what to wear to what to eat), got him some beef spaghetti, sweet sour fish fillet and a bowl of soup. After his on-going chinese med then he took 1 hour+ nap across 2 chairs.

We hugging our full tummy left at 3.30pm. I don't think I want to eat my dinner tonight. Have a slow walk back to Pavilion and at the same time check out new shoe for Terry, but no faith in getting any of that.

Yesterday (10/9), the boy has been mumbling to go train ride (has been promising him for LRT train ride which not able to make it now) and shopping. So we brought him to Sunway Pyramid after lunch. He just can't leave the place whenever he saw rides and especially car rides. So let him go for it at this Beryl's Chocolate Land.

and temporarily train ride on this till I bring him to ride a real one. It works as for now he has been stop asking me day and night.

That's how I spend my Raya holiday.

Good and bad

I was been told that a toddler need 2 year time for their body to develop to adapt to the schooling environment. Thus in this time, they may fall sick easily and the body also take time to build up the antibody. This is so true to Terry. He has been fall sick frequently since the beginning of his kindy days. Based on the clinic’s receipt collected, realized that no fail he will got sick once a month. He was down on common sickness like fever, sore-throat, cough, running nose. But not this time…

It was started since last Tuesday at 4am suddenly his forehead so warm at 38.5'C, without wait any longer woke him up for paracetemol. The fever got subsided in the morning and since he is not looking tired at all, therefore no MC and goes to school as usual. The condition has been continuing for Wednesday and Thursday too whereby only mild fever, no serious running nose and no cough at all. I (and the daycare teacher) only fed med when his fever rises. He still able to eat and play normal with minor sign of tiredness after med. I was suspected that he might catch on a regular cold. Friday comes, this day he looks different, watery eyes and fever is no sign of subsided too.

So send him to his paed without make anymore guesses and dragging it for another few more days, also I started to get more worried with such condition. Doctor check him everywhere, throat – no sign of redness or ulcer, nose – a bit block, press below the jaw line – no sign of swollen. So doctor recommended that either can take some med go home and monitor for few more days or take the flu test. I was a bit reluctant also when comes to flu test, but I still let Terry took it. Result – the strips shows 2 visible lines, one of the lines falls on B. He confirm caught on Influenza B. OMG!!! what a Black Friday to us. I took a deep breath, continue listen on to paed’s words and took the instructions on meds. He also added that, Influenza B is spreading now and everyday he has few patients caught on that.

The medicines: Antibiotic, med on phlegm, flu, cough and Simplex to mix with the powder from capsules. 5ml Simplex to mix with 1 capsule powder, take 3ml of it only. If no vomit sign then only take the rest after 1 hour.

Check and confirm with his school Principal, no one caught on that at school (paed told me that his kindy got a case). Me and my mum take turn to on-leave to look after Terry since he needs to off school for 1 week (till this Wednesday/ Thursday). He is getting better now, tomorrow need to go for check up again to make sure that he is fully recover. Thanks everyone for your well wishes to Terry on FB. Hopefully he will be all fit to back to school, he has been missing school and friends day and night, asking me when he can go to school and he even sobbing when I told him, it is not the time yet.

Aside from depending on the meds, I also got him the Brazilia Green Propolis from organic shop (RM40 for 10ml size). It works to help boast the body’s immune system, prevent sickness and diseases. Doctor did advised me that I’m on the risk of getting it, so I'm taking it as well.

Some update on me. I just got my employment confirm this month with an increment too ;) though there are some up and down and hiccups at work, I’m very glad that I have "angels" (my 2 good seniors) to stand by me and help me out. So far I’m still doing well on the job. Other than that, I’m still striving hard to get my ME time, it seems not so balance yet out of my working life. Those ME time after work is all about dinner time, cleaning and to catch on an early rest with my boy. I don’t really got a time to blog hop and update posts (as you can see reviews are flooding now) and slowly not even Facebook (office has block on accessing FB and YouTube) on weekdays. The only limited ME time which I have was fall on those alternate Saturday which I’m not working.

My latest investment for my health is on the Teviron Eskimode series. This is something I wanted since I'm start using the negative ION product.

A long top and long pant cost RM1500. I wear this as pajamas to re-charge and keep me fit.

Last but not least, wish everyone well. Hopefully I can update more soon =)

4th Birthday at kindy

Back dated post @ 20th May 2010, Thursday

This year birthday could be the first extraordinary one for him, I planned the party to be on at school with his classmates and teachers. I was thought that I won’t be able to make it since I just started to work (also try not to take leave if nothing in emergency). Anyway, I'm so glad that I manage to do all the preparation and gave him a party there. This is also his 1st time birthday without us around.

When I asked the boy what birthday cake he wants, need not to guess he wants Thomas cake. I went look into his sticker book to search for an appropriate Thomas picture then sent it to King Confectionery. I choose Chocolate Lady cake (1kg) as it is simply fit kid's taste. I placed the cake order 3 days before the actual day and collect it on the birthday morning itself, then directly sent it to school.

As for the party packs, I prepared 24 sets to be given away for his class only. No hard time in getting the material and ingredients. I got to pack that after the boy sleep at night, else he will ask to open for everything. He was so looking forward for it, as he has been asking where is his Thomas cake since the day placed order and also happy counting the party packs.

The night before birthday, we prepared 2 birthday gifts for him, one from me and another one from hubby. He was so excited too and wanted to open. After some talk to him that to unwrap the presents next day on actual day, I was so surprise that he got convinced and wait till the next day.

That birthday morning, cake, party packs and also camera I pass it to his class teacher and let her settle for me. The party took place during the snack time. So here, let the picture speaks.

The principal is too kind enough, gave him another set of present which he already got it a month ago. At night, he happily unwrap his pressie all by himself and wu-wa there...so excited. Before this he used to ask me to unwrap everything.

Thomas Storybook set from bookdepository and programmable robot.

He so much of a big boy now, no longer want me to feed that much. He can eat all by himself. He able to grab the spoon and fork well and eat in a tidy way. Eating out now is such a bliss moment. Since he can eat on his own, he starts getting picky - dislike any greens. He will pick out and shift aside the green. His all time favourite is meat, egg, fishball, fried food, banana and orange. I'm getting headache to get him eat greens and more fruits. Besides that, he also slowly shows his indepandent since after attending daycare and get to learn a lot better - singing, talking, love to read and write and etc. So far I didn't regret for the decision to come out to work and sending him to daycare.

At night after back home, sometimes he is alright if he not watch TV. But normally I will still switch on his favourite channel. Since kindy no TV and there is only 3 hours left at home before sleep, so it is ok, kids need this daily dose of cartoon time. I give the full freedom to him to watch whatever he wants. During the weekend, he is not that glue to the telly like last time which he can play a same VCD for more than 5 times a day. Finally for my part, the last challenging mission to complete is to train him diaperless at night.

Term 1 school holiday

The term 1 schooling days almost comes to end, yesterday I was on leave to attend the Parent-Teacher Meet. It was a very short section with the teacher to review his overall progress and development at school.

Randomly 2 pages of it

It is basically can read everything from the progress report itself with grade. It breaks down in to many categories - physical development, personal social development, moral & spiritual growth, health, perceptual and cognitive development, language development, reading, computer learning, art and craft, music and movement, personal appearance and safety habits. What I'm being highlighted was on his motor skill, where he is not that flexible on the way to grip the pencil and the strength to press when write, but teacher said need not to worried he is progressing well. Anyway to me he is good enough from unable to write 5 month ago, to now he can write, but just a bit slow it is ok to me, as long as he willing to write.

The 1st Assessment remark dropped on the last page wrote like this
" Terry is very shy and he needs encouragement to voice out his opinion in class. He is able to recognise alphabets, sounds, colours and numbers and able to read books. He shows improvement in his writing and coloring skill. Overall, he progresses steadily in all area development. "

Random writing, 1-20 and some alphabets

The school was actually having Children and Teachers' Party cum Prize-giving ceremony on coming Thursday and Parent-Teacher Meet on Friday (my appointment for this arranged earlier), due to 3 suspected H1N1 cases in the school, they will need to close 3 days early and re-open for full day students on next Monday. The school immediately need to shut down for other children's safe and also to maintain a safe environment. The disinfection work was carry out quite frequent since last week once reported with suspected case. The principal told me that they took 4 hours to do the disinfection work every round, wipe everything with Dettol and spray Dettol to the air. Pray that God's Almighty hand will bless and show mercy to those sick kids and keep others safe and healthy.

Terry was now with my mum in her kindy where she works. It was actually not really allow him to go to other place but to stay at home (chances of spreading is quite high too). Since I'm working now, no choice, worst come to worst, my mum got to take leave from work.

Hello, I’m still around...

So fast, it is almost a month time since I start to work. Weee…few more days is pay day! So far so good, I manage to pull through it on my job and at the same time manage the house well. My role of job started immediately after the training ends.

Every day my job got to be picking up calls, many many calls. The interval time for calls coming is between 5-8 mins after one another. The line was main hunting line and 4 of us in charge to entertain it. If the call was related to support then I got to jot down their problem/ complain and log ticket. Sometime also got scold by customer and rush us for solution delivery. Being in this post I got to be a very good listener to find out their problem encounter and try to get their problems in detail as precisely as possible. Early weeks when start picking up calls getting ppl scold, blame and shout, actually I was kind of depress and stressful. But after my supervisor advice and colleagues support on how to handle those situation and response those calls, I’m getting better now for learn not to take their words in heart and not to bring those emotions and problems back home.

During the working hour, I got to be multi-tasking to handle calls, MSN and Skype, log complain, do remote access and also at the same time to find solution for them. This kind of task, never get us to feel sleepy coz it is fully occupy. Although we facilitate with full usage of Internet, believe me I don’t even have a wee bit of 10 mins of time to go on FB or others, not to say a quick blogging.

After working hour, for the good of 30 minutes I can sit down for dinner, the rest of the hours before bedtime I’m will be occupy on the house chores and accompany Terry. No TV, newspapers time at all. By the time I got the ME time it was about 10pm or 10.30pm and I really totally flat out by then. For the weekend, more or less still occupy with house chores, church, accompany family, shopping and other programs, I still trying hard to find the free time to go online.

See now… I have been deeply missing so much of my blogging time, I got lots want to share, but too little time now, not to say blog hop. Very soon I will not be able to update what happen around with my friends in Facebook and also to my dear blog friends. So, pls don’t leave me if I’m not hop. I will try to my best to keep up in blog and soon if I can manage my time well then only I’ll do more.

As for Terry, he is quite adapt to the daycare life now. The only thing is he do not have enough of sleep time. 2 hours of nap time at school is too short for him and at night I try to speed up my work so that I can accompany him to sleep early at 9.30pm or 10pm (wake up at 7.45am). Daddy has been start involve in helping to fetch him back from school after work and try to back early to help put him to sleep. Since the day he starts daycare I have been very worried and concern on his health. Been forcing him to drink lots of water (1 litre at least) and popping 400mg Vitamin C everyday. As I know the chance to get sick is rather higher for daycare kids. Just recently cases of HMFD and H1N1 is hitting. His kindy got a suspected case of H1N1 recently and the school will be close 1 day (weekend) for disinfection. I'm still looking for any other nutrition food to boost his immune, any recommendation?

The Parent's Day is coming soon I have been taking a day off work to go for that 15 mins short section of discusion on progress and development. OK, thats all for now, if not a holiday today I don't think I'm able to update blog. Think that I got 3 days off in a row, No, I don't have.

Tomorrow got to be a fun fun day. Happy Weekend to you too ~
