My 2009 Chinese "Niu" Year

...is the most relax one, not going to anywhere far and everyday we slept until 10am. Here is the summary of my 2009 CNY.

24/1 (年廿九)
Hubby started to off work for 1 week, so this will be his only free day to go for CNY shopping. Morning he went to change new notes first, then settle some outstanding payment at management office, while waiting me and my boy to get ready.

At 11ish, we have our brunch at Sakae Sushi in Bangsar Village. Right after that we accompany daddy to shop...went to Mid Valley, got nothing he likes. Etcetera~Mommy bump into me and my boy. I'm so glad that got chance to met her in person. She is such a pretty and soft spoken mummy.

The boy started to get cranky, refused to walk and cry, as it was past his nap time. We not proceed to The Garden anymore, we went to Subang Parade. While on the way there, the boy manage to re-charge for few minutes. Hubby shopped at Parkson, while I accompany the boy at the Lego desk place in the Toy's department, daddy faster settle his shopping. Finally, he got himself a new shirt and a pair of Crocs.

Back home, not having time to rest at all. After settling some housework, we went back to FIL house for reunion dinner. After reach home from the dinner, busy continue the house work, ironing clothes, cleaning and get ready the red packets till late.

25/1 (除夕)
Back to Seremban (hubby's granpa house) for reunion. We started our journey at 11.45am, on the way to Seremban the traffic moving slow. We managed to reach Labu at 1pm visiting hub's aunty first. Chit-chat, eat CNY snacks, collect and give ang pau till about 1.45pm, we left Labu and proceed to Rantau.
Taken with aunty (3rd from right) and family

On the way to Rantau, the boy suddenly vomit. He did not show any discomfort throughout the journey. So, after he vomit he looks kind of relieve. I suspect must be "road" sick. Stop by clean the seat and change the boy.

Have lunch and dinner there. The boy refuse to eat the food I purposely cook for him early the morning, well didn't force him too. He didn't nap there the whole day (did nap less than 1 hour before reaching Seremban), playing with the nieces and cousins. After his evening milk and our dinner, we back home. The boy slept all the way till we reach home at 8pm. We rest, have Mc.D supper and watch Astro CH301 for the CNY count down till late, at the same time accompany with housework too.

26/1 (初一)
Back to FIL house is the first thing to do of the day. My parents went there too for visit every year. Upon reaching FIL place, the boy vomit again, same like yesterday. Now I know what he has been up to. His stomach caught wind. Hubby whole shirt and jeans all kena. I didn't as I'm driving. So, hubby drove back home again to change, bring 'poh ying tan' and pack extra new clothing for the boy. The boy show up at FIL's place with a vomit look and dirty new year clothing..what to do, quickly I bathe and change him there. Later, he happily played with 3 SIL till sweat again.

Daddy return after 45 minutes. My parents left first to my uncle's house in Bangsar and we stay on for another hour. Had lunch there (actually is breakfast, we reach late, so become lunch already). As a traditional manner, I will served tea, say wishes and gave ang pau to my IL. My stomach feel upside down, luckily is ok after some 'biz'. I think must be the dinner before night at Seremban, cause mIL and a SIL also not feeling well. After done all, we left and went to my uncle's house around 1.45pm.

Another round of hu-haa there. Again we have late lunch and man have drinking session after that. The boy enjoy playing and walking around. There are at least 4 same age kids (born 2006) play together. The time was just too short for me to catch up with everyone, cause I'm not there often to met up my cousins. My uncle's house is the place where all relatives met during the 1st day of CNY. Everyone will go gather there. Since we reach late, many of them left already. So I only manage to see a few of them.

The boy refused to take lunch like doesn't feel hungry after too much playing. Since morning he only have milk till about 4pm have another milk without taking nap too. We left at 4.30pm, boy nap on the way back. He managed to nap again like 20 minutes before we went out for dinner. I'm not manage to rest at all, need to do settle housework. So tired...

At night, dinner with FIL at Restaurant Flower Drum. We have our first 'lou sang'. The food were fresh and good. It is a CNY set dinner. The boy very hungry, wallop his rice very fast and he behave very well throughout the dinner.

27/1 (初二)
This is the day back to the wife's home. Since this year not going back to Ipoh (my mum's hometown), we got more time spent at my parents home. My 4th aunty also visiting. We had lunch together and chit-chatting with each other. Just feel so lazy to move. I ate non-stop...and the boy play non-stop. Again, no nap for him till everyone left. He catched a good 2 hours late nap before we went home. Gave my parents ang pau and had dinner there too.

Back home, fed the boy dinner and watch TV. Hubby went out drinking with his friend and end up road block around Cheras area for alcohol check on driver. Got fine RM200, those who travel same car with hubby shared the fine, cause all also drink.

28/1 (初三)
Supposed to join FIL visiting relatives in Kepong and Selayang, but hubby woke up late, so not join them for relative visiting. On the same day FIL and SIL all off to Bali for holiday. In the afternoon, after hubby settle some errand, we went to Jogoya at 2pm for hi-tea (late lunch). 3 of us spend RM169+ for the Japanese Buffet. 2 years ago we ate there for supper. Compared with 2 years ago, this round, the food is so much lesser choice, especially sushi and sashimi, no chinese hot boil soup, less choice for dessert, chinese and western dishes too. Feel a bit disappointed for the food choice. But overall the quality is still ok and we wallop lots of abalone. The boy not so interested in the food. He just ate fruits (a lot) and when he gets tired he kept pulling us to walk with him...thats also help us to digest. He behave well too, cause I reminded him thousand of times what we going to do. Back home with tummy full at 4pm. Walk across Pavillion, there is a big gold cow placing at the entrance and lion dance performance.

Boy managed to nap an hour plus at home. At night, my uncle spend us CNY dinner at Unique Seafood Restautant (23) at PJ. 6 tables of all relatives in a private room. Another round of 'lou sang'. Boy make fuss since woke up from nap till we reach restaurant, because of not enough sleep. He began to warm up when the food comes. He showed his ability to scoop and eat by himself. Again he ate very fast by himself and almost finish a bowl of big rice with shark fins soup and fish.

29/1 (初四)
Not going anywhere. Cooked lunch and dinner at home. Hubby went out visiting his friends.

30/1 (初五)
Wake up late. Book movie ticket at cinema through the phone. 3 years not stepping into cinema, a bit lost when want to book for ticket..hahaha..We watched Alls Well, Ends Well (家有囍事2009) at TGV, Sunway Pyramid at 1.30pm. A comedy that makes everyone laugh from start till the end. Hubby and me went for it only. My mum helped look after the boy.

Supposed to watch another movie - The Wedding Game (大囍事), hubby not so into movie mood to watch it on the same day. So we off to have tea-time at Old Town Coffee then went to PJ States to run some errand. Back to my parents home for dinner and pick up the boy.

31/1 (初六)
Today, updating blog and have a bit of time to online. Almost come to the end of CNY, time to get ready for work and back to normal routine again. Plan to do some grocery shopping today or tomorrow.

It is so easy, just answer one question of which will be based on the episode broadcast and the other will be a general question then email it to them. I do love to watch this talk show, but too bad I'm not follow the program tightly. I remember I only watch very few episode and on the repeated day I always forget.

The talk topic is always interesting and the host bring it out in a casual way. Throughout the show, the 3 ladies hosts talk non-stop. They shared their experience and all of that are so practical which happen to us too. Thats why it is so interesting to see how they handling some situation on a female side and how they face problem.

This Talk Show is on CH 311 (Wah Lai Toi) every Sunday 10.30pm-11pm. Hosted by by 3 famous woman DJ - Vivian, Angel and Lynn. Yesterday was the last episode (Ep 13) of the Ladies Sdn. Bhd. Too bad, I'm going to miss this show. Hope very soon they'll come up something similiar.

Photo Hunters : Hat(s)

The last annual dinner I attended in my ex-company back in year 2004. The theme for the night is Mad-Hatter. Many of us put up nice hat and dress up for the night. My hat is just a simple one, a white hat tied with some ribbons.

I miss all my ex-colleagues very much. During my working days I enjoy to work with them and we are close like friends. In future if I back to the working world, for sure I will rejoin them.

Sweet Goodies

Many thanks to this capable mama, I'm so happy over the MSN the other day, when she told me that my blog being selected to review a series of Teik Senn products. Min Hui in later brought over the goodies bag for me to try. These are the things:

Sun-Maid raisins and mini snack pack, SunSweet Pitted Prunes, Tulip Pork Luncheon Meat, Diamond Zipper Storage bags, an apron and a recipe book.

The recipe book show us how we can cook and enjoy the raisins and prunes in our meal, rather than just eat it directly. These products is not new to me, as I'm (and the lil boss too) a regular consumer for prunes and raisins. The Sun-maid raisin is the first snack I introduced to Terry. He loves it to bit and everyday he will sure ask a few from me. I never turn him down, as I know Sun-maid raisin are all natural California raisins that promotes good health by take a few everyday. This dried fruit can simply increase your daily intake of more fruit. For Terry, not only it work as a snack, it also a good food for me to bribe him whenever his mood flush up. Raisins has been accompany in his meal too when he is no mood to finish his meal or less appetite to eat. The mini snack pack is very convenient to bring along and keep in my bag. I can give him at anytime in ride or dining out.

Prunes from Sunsweet is another great products. It is one of my favourite ready to eat snack and also a must have item in gift pack, especially during Chinese New Year. The Nutrition Density Index shows that, prunes are having the highest nutrient among other fresh fruits.

Although I'm not regularly took canned food especially luncheon meat, but after I tried the Tulip Luncheon Meat imported from Denmark, not bad, I like it very much. I used it to fried rice and everyone at home love it. The ham are less fat and less salty too..it is so fragrant when accompany it in fried rice. Using luncheon meat to make sandwiches and burger I'm yet to it try, I'm sure it taste good too.

Diamond zipper bag in various sizes having lots of storage usage. It is a great to keep fresh food from being polluted and expose a lot in the air. Especially those meats, fruits and vegetable we have prepared and not cook/eat it yet. It can helps to maintain the freshness of the food. Marinated food in the zipper bag also another idea, whereby you can dump all the meat, spices, sauces and ingredients into the bag and rub in it. Packet food or snacks after open which need storage later can use zipper bag too. Sterilised utensils or baby bottles can keep in zipper bag to prevent it gets dirty again. I find that using zipper bag to store foods in refrigerator can save up a lot of space.

Thats all I want to share a little info on the goodness of these products. The Sunsweet recipe here, having a few delicious entrees which makes me so drooling now. Hope I can cook and share it with my family during CNY.

Getting ready for CNY

Days and times passed so fast, next week is already mid of January and after that CNY will be here. Mum have told me to have reunion dinner on 18/1, girl side always have to be earlier no choice. I already half way preparing. Curtains already start washing it since last month. Now left the spring cleaning to do from ceiling, windows to floor. Got to settle all by myself, hubby no time to help...well, will try to do as much as possible. Not going anywhere far this CNY, basically just relatives and friends visiting. Will also try to budget on buying CNY stuff. I just want a peaceful and simple CNY.

I already started hunting for new year clothing before the year-end sales ended last month. Luckily able to get all, some with discount. These are the new clothing for me and my boy.

Top from Mix Culture and Nichii, 3/4 legging from Nichii too and shoe. Total spend RM226

Poney Polo-T, Carters and Gap double sleeve top, 2 Miki pants, socks and shoe. Total spend RM192

Wearing pants or legging is still my best choice for need to take care of a active kid and I allow myself to wear short heel shoe this year. I had my hair cut last week at Shunji Matsuo again from Sunny and he gave me a heavy layered this round. Again, I so satisfied for what pro did (RM68 haircut only). My boy too had it before New Year and I'm still thinking whether want to cut it again when CNY near. His hair is getting long so fast. Bringing him for a hair cut is nightmare to me.

It was so terrible the last round. He knew that he will go for a hair cut and said want. Once the cutter move on his head, he started to cry, get louder and louder. No way to stop him and calm him with sweets and talks. He was pushing the hairdresser away with turning left right and bowing his head up and down to avoid the cutter, scissor cut also not allow when half way cutting. The hairdresser was so afraid to continue with his moving non-stop. Also, he tried to get off sitting my lap, hold my hand and want to go away pointing to the door. I got no choice, got to hold tight his head and grab him tightly. Still can't do it properly as he have his full energy to escape too. End up, I scold him in loud and gave a few smack on his lap. He was still moving a lot after that, we force to continue too. He sat on the floor to finish his hair cut and the hairdresser got to squad down to cut his hair...It was a war time during hair cut. I think the aunty also scared when seeing him walk in for a hair cut everytime...any tips can help to calm down a kid when going for a hair cut?

So what you going to prepared for this CNY? Been reading emails about the Mandrin Oranges with worms. Better becareful when we choose the foods from China like those biscuits, oranges, dried chinese sausages and duck, dates and etc..better choose and buy wisely. I will be start getting busy for the spring cleaning next week. Till then, have a nice weekend to all.

The Teviron Blanket

After long consideration and decision, we finally bought the pricey ION blanket back for good. The main reason also due to the new price list will commence on 1st Feb. Since we already have in mind wanted to bought it and we don't want to spend the extra later. Terry was on full Teviron garments more than a month ago, it started to show recovery sign on him. Speed up the recovery is something I really want to see. By add on this blanket to him, it is enough for his use now.

These are the questions I concern before getting the blanket. The deep burn scar, no any oral medicine can help. I foresee doctor will be giving those scarring cream and erace gel to apply later. Does these creams really help? Yes, may be it can reduce the scar marks, but how many tubes he needs in long term? Does it cause any side effect? Scarring cream also not cheap and it doesn't give health effect either. As for current, the Elomet itchy cream that he was having doesn't help much too in cure his itchiness. In the medication instruction, it even stated side effect in long term. For that reason, I have actually stop using that since long time ago and use other more natural ingredient gel and cream to apply when needed.

In thinking that, if we get the blanket, not only it is good for overall health recovery, it certainly help the skin and cell renewal naturally. So, it is still worth after all. Next time if he is not use, we also can take that to use. Natural heal is far better than medicine heal.

This is the single size blanket, RM2,280 member price. I was so happy for the blanket size as it can fully covered my queen size bed. So instead of Terry can use, now I also can share with him. This blanket having the highest ION energy among all other garments. It is the most worth-buying bedding products too as in price and size. Apparently blanket is use to cover on top of our body, but according to upline and user, sleep on it the effect is better than cover on top. So, for myself I also top up a set of long sleeve top and long pant (RM784) as pajamas to wear at night. It was so amazing how can a piece of cloth can produce ION charges. Really, when I rub and scratch on the garments in dark room, I saw green sparkling. So thats the theory of it, when the garments contact and rub on our skin, it produce charges and this ION works improving our health and body system.

All garments really cost a lot to us. But I know I won't goes wrong to invest in this health products which can be used for many years. Health is far more important that anything else. The more I read about the testimonials, the more I trust this products wholeheartedly. Sickness need to maintain with long term medication or some stubborn sickness over 10,20 years were recover using it. I'm waiting to see miracle on me and my boy.

I won't be back so soon to buy products after this round. Here show you the Nefful office in UBN Tower, Kuala Lumpur.
