Kleenex Review Winner

Remember recently I did a post review wrote up on Kleenex new improved Vintage tissue? 2 weeks later I received an email from organizer mentioning I'M THE WINNER of the blog review to walk away RM200 worth of product. It was simply surprising me on that Monday morning as I always not putting high hope in winning when comes to contest.

Well, RM200 worth of product, it must be lots of Kleenex tissue supply and the organizer also cracking their head how they want to send me the prizes. Later, they decided to reward me with RM200 Jusco shopping voucher. I'm more happy for the latter one, as I could buy other things too not only the tissues. Finally, on Monday ago (27/6) I received the 20 RM10 Jusco cash voucher.

Once again, a big thanks to Kleenex & Indeed Communications for organizing such a great contest offer to Bloggers.

Gap 1969

Recently Gap Malaysia is having an introduction to their 1969 Premium Jeans at Facebook here and in conjunction with that, they are having an activity to upload your numeral 1969 photo. To complete it, they need a total of 1969 photos joining in to celebrate their denim heritage.

This is my submission of the 1969 photo, taken at window display at KLCC Gap outlet.

At that round of time only reach 220+ photos and way long to go to reach the target and I thought that to receive their reward of voucher, I still need to wait. As stated in the T&C of the contest -
B.(5) When 1,969 Photographs are uploaded on Facebook, all Participants will receive 50% discount on all denim jeans ("Promotion"). Validity of offer will be stipulated upon prize notification. If the Participants utilize the Promotion, they will receive a RM30 Gap shopping voucher each. Participants will be informed of the method of redemption of the Promotion via Facebook.
Out of my expectation, I got an email on 2nd June with a subject "Gap - Thank you for your "1969" photo submission!" attached in with a 50% voucher offer to purchase for their 1969 series of jeans only.

This voucher only valid for 3 days. This just comes at the right time as I almost plan to get a new pair of jeans. On last Saturday night, I quickly went Gap at The Gardens and choose my 1969 skinny jeans.

After discount is RM114.50. I like the jeans color very much and it is light weighted. With this purchase I also get a RM30 cash voucher. It is just such a great deal! now I got to think what to buy there next round as it valid till 30th June.

The contest is still running till the total target of photos reach. The most creative entry would win the Grand Prize of two (2) return flight tickets to San Francisco. Each participant can submit five (5) different Photographs only.

Playing Sand Art

Last Saturday was holiday and we hang out at Ikano and The Curve after lunch at Sakae Sushi. We came out from IKEA and walk pass a balloon art stall, something caught Terry's attention, not the fancy shapes of balloon, but the colored sand tray next to it. The boy told me is coloring and keep ask to play it. All this while when I pass through this kind of colored sand art, I found it quite fun, only saw kids were playing. So, why not, now we got chance play together - our very first time!
Quite many pictures to choose from, I think I got trouble helping him to color if he choose a Ben10. I persuade him to get a Dora one, luckily he was ok with Dora. It is quite interesting doing this, when the sand spread over the sticky part, it will got stick on. When I first hold on the sticker art block, I don't know how to peel off the yellow top, cause all sticker lines are so near and close to each other. Then later I went and ask the seller and she taught me how to pick up the yellow part with the sharpened tooth-pick given.

First, need to use the tooth-pick slightly push harder over the yellow top in between the line to create place for the yellow paper to be able to pull up with fingers. Secondly, always start pulling from the outline of the picture and colored it with black. I think this peeling part Terry can't do it yet. Therefore, I was around there helping him to peel part by part and also instructing him the correct color to spread on. He enjoys working on it so much, scooping and spreading the sand carefully. I also enjoy playing it together with him.

Nothing to help me to recall what to color for Dora and Boots, the boy also play guess only. So we color it a bit free-style. Actually I got a Dora puzzle app inside my phone can refer to, but too bad that day I left my phone at home.

We spend a good 45 minutes playing this and daddy went for grocery shopping at Cold Storage. When I asked Terry is he tired, he denied it and he still can be so patient to finish everything, though I can see his eye is super tired already. Towards 80% completing he don't even allow me to help him spread the sand, he wants to do all by himself and ask me to sit down...haha..

The finishing,

The satisfied + tiring look

Revamp Project

It was one of my little project at home to revamp the TV area and also the messy 3rd bedroom a.k.a. storeroom since a few months ago.

I have been draft out the floor plan of it with measurement too, so that it is easier for me to hunt the correct size of the furniture. Ya, I would say it is that tedious for a small apartment house. Can't simply choose and buy, size does matter. On and off I did check out IKEA website and did visit some other furniture shop nearby my place. Also because too much to choose and don't know which to choose.

My project keep delayed until recently I really can't stand the messiness anymore as its really ruins my mood badly every time I clean the place and sit in front of it. So, without any further delay, immediately on that week itself (last week), I took 2 days leave to make this happen.

This project I carry out all the work by myself without anyone helps in making decision. I greatly feel the accomplishment of it and also knowing my capability and ability can actually go this far. Last Friday, on a wet morning I drove myself to IKEA (not the 1st time drive there, but very 1st time driving there alone without anyone accompany)

I choose to shop all from IKEA simply because more design, more choices, more sizes and modern furniture with reasonable price. I started my survey at the showroom first with my floor plan and measuring tape brought along. I never feel so free and pleasant shopping at IKEA, may be is a weekday, not many people and also I got ample of time checking every corner and every single furniture I want.

After many round of measuring, matching, comparing and shortlisting, this is the list of furniture I came out with:

901.783.34 HEMNES TV bench RM699
101.582.31 MALM Chest of 3 drawers RM279
102.023.85 MALM Glass top RM70 (for the drawers top)
801.607.92 MUDDUS Drop-leaf table RM199
101.622.09 NISSE Folding chair RM79

Proceed to the warehouse after 2.5 hours time at the showroom, push the cart to collect the selected goods (with some help of the IKEA customer service staff to bring down those heavy box). Check out at cashier then push the heavy cart to Home Delivery counter. Fuss free, when I opts for delivery service with RM65 charge within Klang Valley. Leave down with my name, home address and contact then they will do the rest. I also asked for the assembly service to the 3 pieces of furniture with additional 5% charge of the retail price of the item.

So where do my old furniture goes to? I never think of throw it away since is still usable. I called up to Pertubuhan Amal Seri Sinar (PASS) in the Friday evening. The timing is just so right, I'm so glad that they were able to come to collect the old TV rack on Saturday morning before the IKEA furniture reach in the afternoon.

PASS is an organization who do recycling work for charity purpose. The funds they gain from recycle will spread out to the unfortunate ones. They provide free pick up service for bulky collections like usable furniture, household junk, used electrical items etc. Others like old clothes, toys, book, newspapers, magazines, plastic, glass and etc. they want it too. They come right to my doorstep on time for collection of the old junks. Other than the huge TV rack, I also give away the old vacuum, spoiled printer, ironing board and the baby cot.

During my call up to PASS, they mentioned to me about the Donation for The Study Aid Fund as little as RM1.00 that they currently running. On the spot, I agreed to make my small donation to them and will pass them the fund when the driver came over my place for old collection. While I'm still writing this and checking out their website, I'm quite surprise they actually keep track and update all donor's name here.

The IKEA Home Delivery reached on-time to my house and they finish assemble everything for me within an hour time. I think they are more professional in fixing it, they don't even need to read the instruction book. For sure I can't do it myself plus we don't have complete tools at home. For all this is actually can DIY, if ask hubby to do it, I got to wait till don't know when. So I don't mind to paying a little more to get it done - fuss free again...this was actually my first shopping from IKEA for big piece furniture. All this while is small item. The experience was simply great and comfortable.

I'm so happy that now this area is more organized and ease for my cleaning time too with all thing hide away. This set of new furniture also quite encourage Terry to have initiative to tidy up his mess. He also loved the table I setup for him. When I told him this is for him, he can't wait and quickly bring all his story book over and sit on it and start reading..haha..

It is all comfortable now...

Coming up next revamp - The Store Room.
