Successful train on daytime diaperless (Part II)

@ 2 years, 5 months, 1 week & 3 days old

It is worth to record this great achievement of Terry back in 3 weeks ago. He is now successfully being train on full daytime diaper-less at home. It was something unexpected he can be successfully train, as the mission 3 months ago failed. I was thinking he might need to continue fully on diapers for quite sometimes.

How it was started? Well, I’m not sure is this the sign consider he is ready. There was one day I found his diaper dry for whole day. Ya, one of the reasons that day he drank very little water, but it is impossible the diaper is totally dry. So, I was asking him what happen? No pee today? So you don’t want to wear diaper is it? He just looked at me one kind of cause.

So the next day, I said what I will do. Before taking bath, I repeated to him many times, no diaper on after shower and you got to pee on potty. He feels much ok without diaper on and not asking for diaper. After a few days diaper-less, he even can repeated what I told him, "No, pian pian" (diaper) after shower.

For me, my job of letting him go diaper-less on the first day seems stress free. It was not like previously, I can’t do anything to whole day and just keep watching him and also much of get ready to do clean up job. This time, I don’t even get ready old cloth to clean up the mess. The first hour after shower, I put him to sit on potty and asked him to pee, to my surprise - he DID IT! Wow, I’m so glad about it and keep praising him. On the first day itself, I’m not even let him wear diaper during nap time.

My timing for him pee is like is between every half to 1 hour, also depends whether he drinks much water or not..if it is, will call for pee in more frequent. So far so good, since the day he went diaper-less, accident few times sure have and once pee on sofa. He not able to tell yet whether he want to pee, cause I still get a silent response when asking. So average in a day I need to clean the potty for like 5-8 times. When he pee accidently on the floor, he will point and said "Wet, wet". While I clean up I do keep reminding him not to pee on the floor again..Now hardly find him pee on the floor. It was so fun, few days later when asked him again where he pee on the floor wet wet, he can point it out.

So now the daytime diapers is hardly use. I will only put on when we go out or if I’m busy especially before dinner. Sometime before day nap and happened he drinks a lot then I will let him put on just in case and I will remove it once he wakes. So compared with last round, it is much easy-peasy..he is ready means ready, very easy to get him to pee, of cause it is much better, if he can tell. Now, I'm not sure when he is ready to stand and pee. I know soon it going to be difficult if he needs to sit all time. Mummies, any suggestion on how to start? or this job perhaps let daddy leads on?

As of today, Terry is turning 2.5 years old!

Yeah... when they're ready, it's much easier to potty train. Less stress for everyone. Well done, Terry! And Happy 2.5 yo!
My boy has been trained to pee standing. But of coz he can't aim properly yet. :)

My boy was only able to pee when sitting down last time. But now, he can do it even by carrying him, stand and shoot into the WC or even free shoot in the toilet while shower. Every time he pees, you ask him if he wants to shoot or carry or sit. Give him a chance to choose. I started by tempting him to try shoot. At first he doesn't want but after awhile he was more willing to try. Then voila.. he can pee in any position now. Msn me if you need more info. :D Good luck dear.
