Skin grafting is a patch of top skin layer surgically remove and paste on the burn and unheal area. Normally hidden skin area like buttock and inner thigh area will be use for the purpose. The grafted skin is use staples to stitch on the hurt area. Expecting his whole thigh skin will be use and the operation need to take several times to complete, can't do all at one go. One side per time of taking the thigh skin may not be enough to cover thus a repeat skin grafting will be taken from the same thigh again after it heals.
When i heard of this again my heart sank and i cried for he needs to take another pain. I was asking if my skin can be use, i certainly will give it away. Till yesterday we are still asking around to get more opinion to see if he really need that. Our plastics surgeon unit Dr. Kuladeva Ratnam said that is the best way to let him heal and after he heals down in 2-3 years time there are still lots to do on massaging his skin to make it grow back in smooth and skin toning. Terry was yelling and cried in pain and itchy in the past few days.
Here, I need more opinion if you have ever heard or come across any bad burn case, what are the solution during recovery and how they recover in making the skin looks close to original.

Oh dear. I'm so terribly sorry to hear this. I can't imagine being in your shoes as I'm already close to tears looking at Terry's pictures. I hope that the operation (if you do decide to opt for it) will be a success. God bless.

I just got to know bout this accident via Annie. Truly sorry for such thing that had happened and it's really a pain. I can feel it even by looking at the pics. Lets hope the operation goes well for him and speedy recovery.

I hope if the skin graft have to be done, he will heal quickly and able to go home to heal emotionally. I'm so saddened by this news since you posted it after the accident. I pray to God he brings Terry comfort!
Judy, I feel very sad and my tears out when I saw the pictures. He is only 2 yrs old. hope he can has a speedy recovery.
Do seek a 2nd or 3rd opinion abt skin grafting. More ops will definitely take a toll on him. But if that's wat need to be done, then no choice. U'd be worried abt other effects like skin infection, etc if left to heal on its own slowly. God bless lil Terry.
I have tears in my eyes as I read. I'm so sorry Judy. I wish I have some advise for you. Do seek second opinion. If skin graft is the only option, I pray it'll be a smooth operation and Terry will be on his path to a speedy recovery. I wish I could do more... :(

am feeling so sad for terry... and I thought I was having a terrible time... really praying hard for Terry. My nephew had severe burns too when he was 1 yo but perhaps not as extended as Terry so am not able to offer much info... What about other doctors' opinions?

My dear friend, be strong. Ya, you should consult other doctors to find out which solution is best. Sorry, I have not had any people I know that had such experience on managing burn recovery.
